Researchers at University of Tsukuba have discovered that for individuals with acquired visual impairments, "segregated placements," such as schools for the blind, play a significant role in fostering positive psychological transformation after the onset of impairment. The researchers have demonstrated that understanding the role of these segregated places is also crucial for realizing an inclusive society that transcends the boundaries of impairment.

Teaching needs to be made more attractive to a wider pool of graduates to tackle shortages in the profession, according to new international research comparing 18 countries.
