A research team led by Prof. ZHOU Rongbin from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) discovered the mechanism by which lysophosphatidylserine (LysoPS) inhibits the anti-tumor activity of natural killer (NK) cells through its receptor. They also proposed a new immunotherapy strategy based on receptor antagonism.

Here, Prof. Dongming Guo from the Dalian University of Technology, introduced a novel manufacturing framework of high-performance manufacturing (HPM), which reveals the deep-coupling mechanism between design and manufacturing.

Prof. Guo commented: "The exploration of an approach suitable for HPM is crucial to improving the manufacturing capacity and standard of high-end equipment."

Scientists in China have developed optical time-stretch quantitative interferometry (OTS-QI) technology, which for the first time records the entire evolution of surface topography during laser polishing at over 100,000,000 frames per second and measurement accuracy comparable to existing white light interferometers, providing insights into the mechanisms involved in the surface roughness evolution. In addition to laser polishing, the OTS-QI could be applied for real-time and in-situ monitoring of many machining scenarios involving highly dynamic phenomena.

A quantitative model that describes the relationship between the X-ray imaging quality (DQE specifically) and the properties of X-ray detectors was proposed.
