The Europlanet Science Congress 2025 will be held jointly with the annual meeting of the American Astronomical Society’s Division of Planetary Science (EPSC-DPS2025) from 7–12 September 2025 at Finlandia Hall, Helsinki, Finland. With around 1800 participants expected to join in person and online, it will be the largest planetary science meeting held to date in Europe.  Press briefings will be livestreamed and press notices on presentations of interest to the media will be issued by the EPSC-DPS2025 Press Office during the meeting.

The addition of the hormone progesterone to gender-affirming hormone therapy leads to increased breast growth for transgender people following feminising hormone therapy. This is demonstrated by an Amsterdam UMC-led trial among 90 participants and these results are presented today at the European Professional Association for Transgender Health (EPATH) annual congress in Hamburg.

The American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) announced today the press program for its 2025 Annual Meeting this month in San Francisco. Researchers will discuss their findings in news briefings on Sept. 29 and 30, and complimentary meeting registration is available for credentialed press. The field's most influential scientific forum, ASTRO's Annual Meeting will feature pivotal studies in radiation medicine for patients with cancer and other diseases.

Freshwater aquaculture is considered a highly promising way to produce animal protein in a resource-conserving and environmentally friendly manner. It has the potential to contribute significantly to global food security and thus help reduce consumption of scarce resources such as water and land. A joint Policy Report published in June 2025 by the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina and the Brazilian Academy of Sciences shows what sustainable and circular aquaculture in Germany and Brazil could look like in reality. The practical recommendations contained therein will be discussed by representatives from both countries in the areas of policy-making, the aquaculture industry, and science on Wednesday 3 September 2025 as part of an international virtual panel discussion.
