Activation of Opto-vTrap inhibits neocortical astrocytic vesicular gliotransmitter (IMAGE)
Caption
After Opto-vTrap virus injection, glial induced fast inward current (gFIC) was measured in mouse brain slices to test whether Opto-vTrap can selectively inhibit vesicular release in non-excitable cells such as astrocytes. In the control mouse, it was observed that frequency of gFIC is enhanced after TFLLR treatment. In Opto-vTrap injected brain slices, it was observed that TFLLR-induced increase in the frequency of gFICs was completed prevented by Opto-vTrap activation, which promptly recovered after light off.
