Making the MuMuTAs. (IMAGE)
Caption
An MuMuTA consists of multiple thin muscle tissues, each of which is slender enough to prevent central necrosis, i.e., tissue loss. The MuMuTA’s ability to contract is enhanced by the high fiber alignment of the tissues, which have been cultured on a flat place. Rolling this sheetlike structure into a three-dimensional shape minimizes variation among individual muscle tissues, enabling superior contractability.
