Green cribellate spider (Nigma walckenaeri) in action (IMAGE)
Caption
Spiders are important generalist predators in all terrestrial agroecosystems, including apple orchards and can contribute significantly to pest control by consuming a large number of various insect pests. The green cribellate spider (Nigma walckenaeri) can catch their prey by building a silk web across the surface of a leaf.
