image: All across the Central and South Kalimantan regions of Indonesia fires rage and smoke billows off those fires. Reports from Indonesia point to both agricultural-based fires and forest fires being the cause of the flames. Recent reports show over 1,200 hot spots in Central Kalimantan alone. The haze from these fires is causing major problems in the cities surrounding them including hindering flights out of the area and causing respiratory issues within the population. The regional haze map issues by the ASEAN Specialised Meteorological Centre shows significant haze in this area of Indonesia.
