FlexTech unveils renowned editorial board, poised for academic excellence

FlexTech is an international open access journal. We publish experimental and theoretical research on inspiring flexible technologies. Emerging flexible technologies serve as the foundation of an important branch of science and engineering. Leadership at the Helm

Professor Xue Feng from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, serves as the Editor-in-Chief. With a Ph.D. in solid mechanics from Tsinghua University and postdoctoral stints at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and the California Institute of Technology, Prof. Feng brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role. He is a tenured professor in the School of Aerospace Engineering, founding director of the Laboratory of Flexible Electronics Technology at Tsinghua University, and director of the Institute of Flexible Electronics Technology of Tsinghua, Zhejiang. Prof. Feng's research focuses on flexible integrated devices, and he has an impressive publication record of over 270 papers and more than 200 patents. His numerous honors and awards, such as the ASME Ted Belytschko Applied Mechanics Division Award (2024) and the ASME Melville Medal (2023), highlight his significant contributions to the field. Under his leadership, the journal is set to have a clear vision and strategic direction in promoting cutting - edge research.

Diverse Expertise among Associate Editors

The journal's Associate Editors are a group of accomplished researchers with expertise in various fields. Young Min Song from the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, Republic of Korea, is a professor in electrical engineering and computer science. His research interests lie in advanced optoelectronic devices, multifunctional nanophotonics, and optical healthcare systems. As a senior member of Optica and an editorial board member of several prominent journals, he will bring his in-depth knowledge and editorial experience to ensure high - quality manuscript reviews in his areas of expertise.

 

Chwee Teck Lim, the NUS Society Chair Professor of Biomedical Engineering at the National University of Singapore, focuses on developing wearable technologies for healthcare. With over 470 journal publications and numerous awards, including the Nature Lifetime Achievement Award for Mentoring in Science, he is a highly respected figure. His entrepreneurial spirit, having started six companies to commercialize lab-developed technologies, also adds a unique perspective, potentially bridging the gap between academic research and real-world applications in the journal's content.

 

Kourosh Kalantar-Zadeh from the University of Sydney, Australia, is a leading researcher in analytical chemistry, materials science, and sensors. As an Australian Research Council Laureate Fellow, he has co-authored over 500 highly cited papers and is known for his groundbreaking work on ingestible sensors. His editorial roles in multiple prestigious journals demonstrate his ability to maintain high-quality standards in academic publishing.

Guidance from Advisory Board Members

The advisory board members, John A. Rogers and Yonggang Huang from Northwestern University, USA, provide invaluable guidance. John Rogers has an extensive academic and industry background, with more than 850 papers and over 100 patents. His research has been recognized by numerous awards, and his membership in several national academies reflects his standing in the scientific community. Yonggang Huang, a renowned mechanical engineer, has made significant contributions to the mechanics of stretchable and flexible electronics. With a vast publication record and multiple awards, his experience as an editor - in - chief and in various leadership roles in academic societies will be crucial in shaping the journal's long-term development.
