NEW YORK, NY – Feb. 3, 2025 - Tuesday, Feb. 4 will mark the relaunch of the ATS Breathe Easy Podcast. The American Thoracic Society is breathing new life into its podcast series, which kicked off in 2016 and saw a resurgence during the COVID-19 pandemic. After a brief pause, the podcast is introducing new hosts and a new format for episodes dropping on the first Tuesday of each month.

Leading the charge with “ATS Breathe Easy: The Latest” is Patti Tripathi, former CNN headline news anchor and the first Indian-American on television news. Ms. Tripathi will share the latest in breaking news before diving into conversations with experts, advocates and patients about pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine.

The first episode of the relaunch will feature self-proclaimed pulmonary fibrosis warrior and medical research advocate Teresa Barnes. Ms. Barnes is also former chair of the ATS Public Advisory Roundtable (PAR), which integrates the patient perspective into ATS programs and activities. She is former vice president of outreach and program support for the Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis and co-founder of fluidIQ, a public benefit company that offers solutions based on a proprietary fluidics’ technology platform.

  • Asthma and Biologics in Children with former ATS President Monica Kraft, MD - the Murray M. Rosenberg Professor and System Chair, Department of Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai - and De De Gardner, DrPH, chief research officer of the Asthma and Allergy Network and a member of PAR
