Summary diagram of research findings. With aging, Crtc2 expression increases, accelerating cellular senescence by suppressing BCAA catabolism and promoting mTORC1 activation. This novel mechanism leads to the secretion of SASP including TNFα and IL-1β, which reduces the activation of preadipocyte cells and ultimately causes adipocyte dysfunction and metabolic disorders.
