Drosophila mojavensis sonorensis mating (VIDEO) Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology This video is under embargo. Please login to access this video. Caption The video shows a male and female Drosophila mojavensis sonorensis fly copulating. The courtship song of the male is produced by vibrations of the wings. In this subspecies, females give the male song a higher priority than the presence of a pheromone when choosing a partner.
