Arginine suppresses the neuronal degeneration in the cerebellum of SCA1 model mice. SCA1 model mice develop the degeneration of Purkinje cells, one of the neuronal cell populations in the cerebellum (left, asterisks show regions with Purkinje cell degeneration). Arginine administration alleviates Purkinje cell degeneration (right).
