The green lasers of the two lidars from NOA and TROPOS can be seen far beyond the harbor at night. The lidar measurements support the "Aeolus Tropical Campaign." In addition to calibrating the data from the ESA satellite, they will also help to study clouds and aerosols in the tropics and to better understand the formation of tropical cyclones.
