A Comparison of Photostability of PREX 710 and Alexa Fluor 647 (Cyanine Dye) (IMAGE)
Caption
Fluorescent dyes were conjugated to NeutrAvidin immobilized on a biotinylated glass surface. Each bright spot indicates a fluorescence signal from a single molecule. In the coverslip with Alexa Fluor 647, half of the signals disappear within 20 seconds. On the other hand, the coverslip with PREX 710 retains 80% of the signals even after 2 minutes.
