A Greenland shark in the icy waters of Disko Bay, western Greenland. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Aug. 12, 2016, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by J. Nielsen at University of Copenhagen in Helsingør, Denmark, and colleagues was titled, "Eye lens radiocarbon reveals centuries of longevity in the Greenland shark (Somniosus microcephalus)."
