The Ruby Cluster's 4,800 processor cores are estimated to be capable of 144 TeraFLOPS, tech-speak for 144 trillion calculations per second. The system is named for the late Ohio-born actress, author and activist Ruby Dee. Statewide IT and education officials gathered to dedicate the system on April 9.
