This high resolution satellite image of the eye of Hurricane Ivan from NASA's Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) -- Aqua at 18:50 UTC on Sept. 15, 2004, was produced by the Ocean Optics Section at the Naval Research Laboratory, Stennis Space Center. The photo has been water-colored and sharpened using Adobe Photoshop software.
