Drag Coefficient, Figure 3 (IMAGE)
Caption
Drag coefficient as a function of wind speed. CD is shown for an observation-based resistance coefficient, r = 0.02 cm s-1. The red open circles are the evaluated CD from the current and wind observations, the solid red line is a fitted quadratic curve to the CD estimates, and the red dashed lines are the 95% confidence limits for this quadratic curve. The black dotted lines represent the window for CD reported by Moon et al. (2004) while the blue dots represent CD reported by Powell et al. (2003). Moon, I.J., I. Ginis, T. Hara, 2004.
