The Mojave Desert is home to a population of desert tortoises negatively affected by invasive grasses and an upper respiratory disease. ASU life sciences researchers and their collaborators have decoded the animal's genome. This information should help guide how this threatened species is managed and may improve its chances of long-term survival.
