Inhibition of the Meiosin Gene Causes Animal Specimens to Become Infertile (IMAGE)
Caption
Researchers from Kumamoto University (Japan) performed genome editing experiments to verify that the Meiosin gene was indeed the trigger for meiosis. When they removed the gene in a murine experimental model, meiosis did not begin and germ cells were not produced rendering the animals infertile.
