Microdialysis (IMAGE)
Caption
The principle of microdialysis: The microdialysis probe is surrounded by a membrane that allows particles of a certain size to pass through. Saline circulates inside the membrane, into which molecules from the outside are secreted. The microdialysis probe is placed in the desired tissue in the body. The membrane of the microdialysis probe has pores through which small viruses can pass. This allows the collection of viruses that accumulate in tissues by passing through cells.
