The comparisons of the four FW control strategies are summarized in Fig. 3. From the perspective of calculation burden, the online calculation and MPC methods are heavier because of solving high-order equations and multiple model predictions. From the perspective of control robustness, the voltage closed-loop method is satisfactory because these methods utilize feedback control and do not depend on motor parameters. In contrast, the online calculation methods are based on motor equations and are more sensitive to motor parameters. From the perspective of response speed, the offline calculation method is best because the reference variables are obtained by LUT without any calculation, which is poor in generalization and robustness. From the perspective of control accuracy, the MPC methods have a greater advantage because the controller can handle complex nonlinearities and constraints by cost functions.
