Recent WSU-led research offers hope for at-risk butterflies, like the Oregon silverspot (pictured here), finding that their populations did better when their habitat was actively managed. The study looked at 31 at-risk butterfly species across the U.S. whose populations are facing rapid declines related to habitat loss, climate change and pesticide use.
