When cancer stem cells modified to be unable to express interleukin-6 (8B-IL-6-KO) were transplanted into immunocompetent mice (C57BL/6), survival times of the mice increased significantly compared to mice that were transplanted with cancer stem cells that express IL-6 (8B-mock).
