About the Author

Louay A. Mohammad studied civil engineering at the University of Basrah, Iraq, followed by M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in hydraulics and coastal engineering from the University of Strathclyde, Scotland, UK. He has worked as a university lecturer at the University of Basrah, a design engineer with COWI A/S, Copenhagen, Denmark, a technical expert adviser for all coastal projects of Nakheel, Dubai, UAE, and as a general manager for coastal and marine works for Palm Deira. He joined then Archirodon Construction (Overseas) Co. S.A. to become the regional engineering manager of North Africa, based in Cairo, Egypt. He was later relocated to the gulf area again, based in Dubai, as the engineering manager for some key projects of Archirodon. His round trip around the world ended with him joining COWI A/S again.
