UNIST has joined hands with Samsung SDI Co., Ltd. to nurture and support scientific talents in the field of secondary battery.

On November 17, UNIST signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Samsung SDI to provide the ‘e-Battery Track Course.’ The ceremony has been attended by UNIST President Yong Hoon Lee, Executive Vice President Hyuk Chang of Samsung SDI, and other key officials from both organizations.

The e-Battery Track Course of UNIST and Samsung SDI will be operated from 2023. Accordingly, Samsung SDI will select outstanding talents in master’s doctorate courses within the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Department of Electrical Engineering at UNIST. Upon completion of the course these students will be, then, hired by Samsung SDI.

Students selected for this course will have the opportunity to carry out field-oriented research and education in  the field of secondary battery at UNIST. This also includes visiting Samsung SDI’s industrial sites. Samsung SDI will provide full tuition and scholarships for the degree course.
