UNIST celebrated the grand opening of its ‘Future Home Lab,’ a unique space for collaborative, interdisciplinary and applied research on August 26, 2022.
A signboard-hanging ceremony was also held to mark the official grand opening of the so-called ‘LG-UNIST Future Home Lab.’ The ceremony has been attended by the representatives from the LG Electronics and the UNIST Department of Design. This was followed by a short tour of the new facility.
LG-UNIST Future Home Lab is equipped with the ‘LG Objet Collection’ of premium kitchen appliances, the equivalent of a ‘high-end category’ that fits its future home context. It is comprised of future living rooms, kitchens, and bedrooms for one or two-person households.
The new spaces are poised to conduct collaborative, interdisciplinary and applied research, creating new knowledge and developing solutions to real-world problems. Through this, they plan to design and build new products and services that will transform the future home.
