AAAS announces new Science Partner Journal, Intelligent Computing

Business Announcement

American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)

The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) is pleased to announce the launch of new Science Partner Journal, Intelligent Computing, published in affiliation with Zhejiang Lab.

Intelligent Computing’s mission is to build an open communication and cooperation platform for global science and technology professionals in the field of intelligent computing. It is interested in presenting the latest research outcomes and technological breakthroughs in intelligent computing in order to boost the development of intelligent computing science and technology, promote global academic communication and cooperation, and enhance human well-being. Categories of manuscripts include Research Articles, Review Articles, and Perspectives.

Dr. Shiqiang Zhu of Zhejiang Lab and Dr. Ninghui Sun of the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, will serve as Editors-in-Chief. Intelligent Computing is currently open for submission and will publish under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY).

Dr. Shiqiang Zhu, president of Zhejiang Lab and Editor-in-Chief of Intelligent Computing, emphasizes that “we haven’t seen an international journal that focuses on intelligent computing and explores the integrated development of computational science and intelligent technology. Therefore, it is necessary and the right time for us to establish an academic journal with high impact on intelligent computing. We are excited to launch Intelligent Computing in partnership with AAAS, and we believe the journal will greatly advance the development of computational technology and computing methodologies for human-level intelligence, and support the integration of cyber, physical, and social systems.”

“In recent years, the rapid development of computational science and artificial intelligence [AI] has shown an ever-increasing tendency of close correlation and integration. While AI innovation has strongly relied on computational science and technology, the innovation in computational science, especially these new research paradigms achieved through computing methodologies, has also benefitted the dramatic revolutions of AI technology. Aiming at cutting-edge topics in related fields, the journal is expected to be a communication platform that shares the latest research outcomes in fundamental theories and models, architectures, and technical methods, thereby boosting the theoretical and technological development of intelligent computing. The support from AAAS surely will help ensure the success of the journal,” said Dr. Ninghui Sun, a member of Chinese Academy of Engineering and Editor-in-Chief of Intelligent Computing.

“Our team is looking forward to the collaboration with Zhejiang Lab to launch this new Science Partner Journal”, said Bill Moran, Publisher of the Science family of journals at AAAS. “The launch of Intelligent Computing comes at an important time for the field, and we are excited to be a part of its mission to advance, promote, and innovate the field of intelligent computing, particularly in innovative computational science and technology to develop artificial intelligence in the future.”

New titles participating in the Science Partner Journal program will launch on a regular basis and participation in the program is kept to English-language publications. AAAS is actively seeking new partners across scientific disciplines. Organizations participating in the Science Partner Journal program will be editorially independent and responsible for the content published in each journal. Partner organizations are responsible for establishing editorial boards committed to best practices in peer review and author service.
