Evanston, Ill., August 9, 2021. The Massage Therapy Foundation (MTF) announces its International Massage Therapy Research Conference (IMTRC), which will be an in-person event, on May 12-13, 2022 in Alexandria, Va.

Every three years (since 2010), MTF brings together massage and manual therapy practitioners, educators, thought leaders, researchers, allied health professionals, and others interested in massage research from around the globe. The research conference provides an opportunity to contextualize and evaluate scholarly research findings as well as disseminate and discuss current research and groundbreaking innovations in order to facilitate a learning environment about the latest science to apply in practice.

Top global and organization scholars will reveal their latest research findings, focusing on important issues impacting the massage therapists, students, educators, and organizations.

“Facilitating research, amplifying education, serving our profession, and providing philanthropic massage therapy are more critical now than in any time in our history. Focusing on research allows the profession to concentrate on developing and funding in these areas of utmost importance to facilitate enrichment of practice and professionalism. Some notable areas for MTF are its Research Agenda, Ergonomics Study, and Practice Based Research Networks (PBRN),” said Robin Anderson, MTF President.

MTF recognizes and thanks the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), the 2022 Presenting Sponsor of IMTRC.

“We are proud to support IMTRC 2022; it’s an exciting opportunity for our colleagues in the profession to come together and learn the latest research and innovations in massage therapy,” said Steve Albertson, AMTA President.

Call for abstracts is open; deadline is September 13, 2021. Call for posters is open; deadline is January 14, 2022. For more information, future announcements about IMTRC 2022, and to apply visit here:  https://massagetherapyfoundation.org/imtrc-2022/
