video: An overview of the PapGene test. Cancerous cells from ovarian or endometrial tumors are shed into the gynecological tract and collect in the cervix. These cells are captured using a Pap smear brush and their DNA is sequenced. The identification of cancer-specific DNA mutations signifies the presence of a gynecologic malignancy. This video relates to a paper that appeared in the Jan. 9, 2013, issue of Science Translational Medicine, published by AAAS. The paper, by I.
