'Old Food' Diet Experiment Shows Molecular Changes Can Shorten Lifespan (1 of 2)

image: Organism-specific culture media and diets were prepared using young and old organisms and tested for their influence on the lifespan of yeast, fruit flies, and mice. A common trend was that "old" diet shortened lifespan, suggesting that age-associated molecular changes are deleterious, causally linked with aging and may affect lifespan through diet. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Feb. 17 2017, issue of Science Advances, published by AAAS. The paper, by S.-G.
