This palm occurs frequently around current settlements and villages in Central Amazonia. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the March 3, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by C. Levis at Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas da Amazônia - INPA in Manaus, Brazil, and colleagues was titled, "Persistent effects of pre-Columbian plant domestication on Amazonian forest composition." view more
