一项研究发现,煤燃烧的无反应性残余副产物粉煤灰,贡献了中国长江流域的化石化颗粒物有机碳流量的大约37-72% ,即每年大约0.21-0.42 百万吨碳;这组作者说,这些结果揭示出了人类活动造成的碳循环可以与地质碳循环的速度不相上下,前者不仅仅是通过排放到大气层,还通过改变河流碳输送。
