Stronger Tropical Cyclones Strengthen the Kuroshio Current, Further Heating High Latitudes (2 of 2)

The mechanism of a positive feedback of tropical cyclones to the warming climate was discovered: intensified tropical cyclones under global warming accelerate the Kuroshio current by modifying the underlying oceanic eddy field. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the 29 May issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by Y. Zhang at Ocean University of China and Qingdao National Laboratory for Marine Science and Technology in Qingdao, China, and colleagues was titled, "Strengthening of the Kuroshio current by intensifying tropical cyclones."
