A study finds that although harvested wood products represented a sink of 335 megatons of CO2 per year in 2015 and could reach annual sequestration of 441 megatons of CO2 per year by 2030, wood products represent less than 1% of global emissions and are susceptible to economic shocks that can turn them from a net sink to a net carbon source.
