image: Scientists from the Alfred Wegener Institute use the board helicopter from the icebreaking research vessel Polarstern to collect snow samples. Even in the Arctic the snow is polluted with microplastics. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the August 14th, 2019, issue of Science Advances, published by AAAS. The paper, by M.
