image: The pathological aggregation and progressive spreading of misfolded tau proteins in the brain are hallmarks of Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative diseases. Now there is experimental evidence that aging can enhance tau spreading and that certain brain areas are especially vulnerable to accumulate misfolded tau. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the July 26th, 2019, issue of Science Advances, published by AAAS. The paper, by S. Wegmann at German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE) in Berlin, Germany, and colleagues was titled, "Experimental evidence for the age dependence of tau protein spread in the brain." view more
