image: A GPS station was set up on the ice in the center of the subsiding caldera to monitor the collapse with the help of a Coast Guard helicopter on Sept. 11, 2014. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the July 15 issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by M.T. Gudmundsson at University of Iceland, Sturlugata in Reykjavík, Iceland, and colleagues was titled, "Gradual caldera collapse at Bárdarbunga volcano, Iceland, regulated by lateral magma outflow." view more
