image: The prehensile tailed skink (Prasinohaema prehensicauda) from the highlands of Papua New Guinea has green blood due to high concentrations of the green bile pigment biliverdin. Note the green color of the mucosal lining and tongue. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the 16 May 2018, issue of Science Advances, published by AAAS. The paper, by Z.B.
