Stephen Bonk of Riva, Md., will advise Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.). The congressman is a member of the House International Relations and Science committees, and the Congressional Research and Development Caucus, of which IEEE-USA is an advisory committee member. Bonk will work closely with the Science Committee's Space and Aviation Subcommitee, and in policy areas germane to the IEEE-USA Committee on Transportation and Aerospace Policy. He is a technical planning manager with the Washington-based Science Applications International Corp.
Steve Czuchlewski of Los Alamos, N.M., has been assigned to the State Department's Policy and Regional Affairs Office. He will assist in European and Russian policy, offer advice on technical issues, and is expected to interact with Department of Energy staff. He recently retired after 30 years as a technical staff member at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Scott Jordan of Irvine, Calif., will advise Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) and be the lead staff person on Internet and telecom issues. Sen. Nelson is a member of the following Senate committees: Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry; Armed Services; Commerce; Science and Transportation; and Rules and Administration. Jordan is a professor in the University of California, Irvine Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
