The specimen of Microdocodon is from a fossil site near the Wuhua village, a part of the famous Jurassic Daohugou fossil sites, in the Daohugous area of the Ningcheng County of Inner Mongolia Region of China. The Daohugou Sites are Middle Jurassic in age, and directly dated to be 165 million years. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the 19 July issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by C.-F. Zhou at Shenyang Normal University in Shenyang, China, and colleagues was titled, "New Jurassic mammaliaform sheds light on early evolution of mammal-like hyoid bones." view more
