Relative seismic velocity variations correlate with deformation at Kīlauea volcano (1 of 3)

This spattering is associated with a source of seismic energy - or 'volcanic tremor' - which is used as a tool to measure tiny changes in the speed that seismic waves travel through the volcano. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the June 28, 2017, issue of Science Advances, published by AAAS. The paper, by C.
