Navigating the Labyrinth of Delivering Therapeutics to the Ear (1 of 1)

image: Current methods of drug delivery to the cochlea, such as intratympanic and intracochlear delivery, are invasive and require needles or scalpels. Delivery of cell therapies or nanoparticles through blood vessels (vascular delivery) represents an alternative and non-invasive approach. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the Mar. 6, 2019, issue of Science Translational Medicine, published by AAAS. The paper, by S. Nyberg at Sunnybrook Research Institute in Toronto, ON, Canada; and colleagues was titled, "Delivery of therapeutics to the inner ear: The challenge of the blood-labyrinth barrier." view more
