NASA's Global Hawk 872 Landing After Second Flight, Leaves for Third Flight Today

After flying its second science mission NASA's Global Hawk 872 known as GH872 returned to NASA's Wallops Flight Facility in Wallops Island, Va., on Aug. 25, 2013. The Global Hawk is flying in NASA's Hurricane Severe Storms Sentinel, or HS3 mission.

That was the second flight controlled by the Global Hawk Operations Center-2 (GHOC-2), located at Wallops. On Aug. 29, GH 872 departed for its third science flight.
