image: Interior of a 45-year old second-growth forest that regenerated naturally on abandoned pasture in northeastern Costa Rica. The plot has been monitored annually for 20 years, contributing to the dataset used in this study. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the 08 Nov. 2017, issue of Science Advances, published by AAAS. The paper, by R. Crouzeilles at International Institute for Sustainability in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and colleagues was titled, "Ecological restoration success is higher for natural regeneration than for active restoration in tropical forests." view more
