This relates to a paper in Science by Zhang and van den Pol showing that when the inhibitory nerve cells of the zona incerta are stimulated, mice immediately begin to eat, and they particularly enjoy high fat foods. This material relates to a paper that appeared in the May 26, 2017, issue of Science, published by AAAS. The paper, by X. Zhang at Yale School of Medicine in New Haven, CT, and colleagues was titled, "Rapid binge-like eating and body weight gain driven by zona incerta GABA neuron activation." view more
