Fires in Indochina

image: NASA's Aqua satellite captured this image of fires were burning in Burma and Thailand. The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer instrument that flies aboard NASA's Aqua satellite captured this image of fires and smoke on February 14, 2012 at 0655 UTC (1:55 a.m. EST). The fires are marked in red and smoke is light brown in color. Some of the fires appear to be burning in the Bago Yoma Forest in southwestern Burma. Other fires, burning further west appear to be near the Pathein-Mon Ywa Highway Road that runs north to south. The dark colored area running into the Gulf of Martaban (south of the fires) is silt from river runoff. view more
