n the premiere episode of The ImmunoVerse, host Dr. Patrick Hwu sits down with pioneering physician-scientist Dr. Steven A. Rosenberg, Chief of Surgery Branch at the National Cancer Institute. Together, they explore the roots of Dr. Rosenberg’s fascination with the immune system, tracing his remarkable journey from early scientific curiosity to the groundbreaking immunology discoveries that have reshaped cancer treatment.

TAMPA, Fla. — Moffitt Cancer Center has launched The ImmunoVerse, a new podcast hosted by President and CEO Patrick Hwu, M.D. A world-renowned physician-scientist and tumor immunologist, Hwu will bring immunotherapy discoveries to life through the voices of those advancing the groundbreaking field.

Each episode of The ImmunoVerse will feature conversations with leading physicians and scientists in the field, including prominent guests like Dr. Steven Rosenberg of the National Cancer Institute. Through engaging discussions, listeners will meet the visionaries leading the field of immunotherapy, unravel the mysteries of the immune system and explore breakthroughs that are changing lives.

“Early in my career, cancer immunotherapy was met with much skepticism,” Hwu said, “but it has transformed how we approach cancer, catapulting us into a new era. With The ImmunoVerse, we can highlight these groundbreaking discoveries and spark conversation, inspiration and hope for cancer patients, scientists, physicians and anyone interested in the future of cancer care and research.”

The inaugural episode of The ImmunoVerse launched April 24. Episode 1 features Rosenberg, chief of the Surgery Branch at the National Cancer Institute’s Center for Cancer Research and one of the most prominent figures in cancer research and immunotherapy.

Episodes of The ImmunoVerse will be released monthly and feature experts from Moffitt Cancer Center and institutions from around the world. The podcast is available on all major podcast platforms or at Moffitt.org/Immunoverse.
