It is a great pleasure to announce that Professor Robert T. Schooley, from the University of California, San Diego (USA), will be a keynote speaker at the 8th World Congress on Targeting Phage Therapy, scheduled for June 10-11, 2025, in Berlin.

Professor Schooley will present a talk titled “Phage Therapy 2030: Getting from Here to There” In this address, he will explore the accelerating integration of phages into clinical medicine over the past decade and discuss the necessary steps to ensure widespread adoption and advancements in phage therapy by 2030.

As an infectious disease specialist, Professor Schooley’s expertise spans HIV, hepatitis C (HCV), influenza, and global health. He was among the first researchers to describe the humoral and cellular immune responses to HIV infection and has played a pivotal role in advancing phage therapy applications for antimicrobial resistance (AMR).

Currently, Professor Schooley serves as a Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases within the Department of Medicine at UC San Diego School of Medicine, where he leads a multidisciplinary research program focused on hepatitis C and novel infectious disease treatments.

The 8th World Congress on Targeting Phage Therapy will gather leading scientists, clinicians, industry experts, and innovators to explore the latest advances, challenges, and clinical applications of bacteriophage therapy, shaping the future of phage-based medicine.
