Registration is open for the 2025 Business Outlook event in Austin, bringing together financial technology experts for a critical conversation about the industry’s future, Feb. 19 in the AT&T Hotel and Conference Center’s Grand Ballroom on The University of Texas at Austin campus.
Hosted by the University of Texas McCombs School of Business and the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, the event features a panel discussion — “The Rise of AI in Fintech: Transforming the Financial Landscape” — moderated by Ethan Burris, Texas McCombs senior associate dean for academic affairs. McCombs alumni and the Austin business community are invited; breakfast and networking begin at 7:30 a.m., with the panel discussion at 8:30 a.m.
Panelists are Ally Hoffman, the assistant vice president in banking supervision for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and a former lecturer in the Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University; Raul Rodriguez (UT MBA ’13), the head of product management at frog, part of Capgemini Invent, as well as a digital and physical engineer across multiple industries; and Cesare Fracassi, an associate professor of finance, director of the McCombs School of Business’ Blockchain Initiative, and the chief economist of the Coinbase Institute.
The group will address questions on artificial intelligence and its power to reshape finance, from personalized banking to risk assessment and fraud detection. The panel will also speculate about AI’s future impact.
The Austin event is the last of a three-part series for this year’s annual McCombs Business Outlook, following an event in Houston on energy and one in Dallas on real estate.
“These vibrant dialogues are designed to inspire, educate, and empower,” Burris said. “We’re glad to amplify the voices of leaders who can help businesses navigate the uncertainties of industry with informed confidence.”
